I took a class called Solo Show Shop a few years ago at the Abrons Art Center with the excellent director and now artistic director David Drake. Since I had never written a show before, he asked me to notice what I thought about the most and start there.
Food. I think about food. A lot. Buying it, growing it, cooking it, eating it, watching other people enjoy it. I also care deeply about animal welfare and the environment. And so Madame V, a vegan dominatrix, was born. I wrote and performed my solo show, Eaten Into Submission, at the Abrons Art Center for an invited audience. The clip below is from her debut performance. I hope to get up my nerve and bring her to a wider audience soon.
